Jules Lennard
Jules Lennard blazed a trail of dealing with discrimination. Jules personal battle with discrimination helped transform him into a leader. Jules was initiated into the WI Omega chapter in 1934. An excellent athlete, Jules was an excellent soccer player.

Jules was selected for the 1936 US Olympic Soccer team. Anti-Semitism in Germany prevented Jules from participating. The United States Olympic Committee informed Jules on the way to the games they could not guarantee his safety due to the Nazi regime. He was not permitted to leave the boat.

The experience had a lasting impact on Jules. Jules made a decision to confront discrimination and segregation. He returned home and began a life long commitment to ending discrimination. Until Jules death in 2002, he devoted himself to ending discrimination. To honor Jules the International Fraternity created the Jules Lennard Human Relations Award to recognize organizations and individuals who make a difference towards building bridges and connecting people through their similarities.
